Nicholas Cox, Product Designer

Product designer in Milton, Ontario (Greater Toronto Area), open to junior and associate product design roles, on-site, hybrid or remote. Bachelor of Design (Graphic Design) from OCAD University, graduated May 2026, with distinction. I design and build the full stack, directing AI-assisted development (Claude Code).

Plot

A live platform (yourplotmap.com) for people with many interests who struggle to start. Each subject gets a guide around one exact first action, becomes a small 3D plot, and joins a map of everything the user has started. Designed, built and launched solo in three months. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase and Three.js. Tested with more than twelve people; the onboarding was rebuilt from what they did: one header and one button per card, no alternate paths, animations sequenced so the element that moves last gets the focus.

Cura

My BDes thesis: a social habit tracker built from seven interviews with people across a range of lifting and nutrition experience. The research became product rules: no global leaderboard, opt-in competition, one-tap nudges. Prototype shown at GradEx, later built into a working app with React Native, Expo and Supabase, then paused when market research showed a crowded category.

Experience and school work

Graphic designer for Flyer Canada, 2023 to 2026: flyers for businesses across Canada, from client brief to a first concept in two to three days. School work from OCAD University: print, packaging and animation, including magazine and book layouts in InDesign.

Tools

Figma (components, variants, prototyping), Claude Code, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere.
